Sanjeewa Guruge is a finance professional with 19 years of local and foreign experience in leading organizations such as Ernst & Young, Aitken Spence (Maldives) and Central Bank of Sri Lanka. He is working for the Central Bank of Sri Lanka from January 2006 and is currently holding the position of Deputy Director.
Academic Qualifications:
- B.Sc. Accountancy (Special) Degree with a First-Class Division, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, Sri Lanka
- M.Sc. Investments with a Distinction, University of Birmingham, United Kingdom
- Master of Financial Economics (MFE), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka
- Reading for PhD (in Finance and Economics), University of Colombo, Sri Lanka
Professional Qualifications:
- Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCA).
- Fellow Member of the Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Sri Lanka (FCMA)
Sanjeewa Guruge is academically and professionally qualified and is an experienced lecturer in Financial Management, Capital Markets & Derivatives, Accounting and Economics in leading academic institutions is Sri Lanka.
Sanjeewa Guruge has presented a research paper with the theme “Is Financial Development the Cause or the Result of Economic Growth? The Sri Lankan Experience” in the International Conference on Economics and Finance held in Nepal Rastra Bank, Kathmandu, Nepal. It was published in the International Journal of Management and Entrepreneurship, Volume 1, Number 2, July 2017.
He has participated in number of foreign conferences, seminars and training programs in Brunei, Vietnam, Nepal, Singapore, USA and UK and has contributed as a resource person at leading institutions including Centre for Banking Studies of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, The Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka, The Institute of Management Accountants of Sri Lanka and The Institute of Certified Management Accountants of Australia.
